Nigerian Dwarves

Fun for the entire family!

Why Nigerian Dwarf?

Our Nigerian Dwarves

“An ideal family dairy animal…”

ADGA – American Dairy Goat Association

Nigerian Dwarf goats are just that, dwarves!  No they don’t run around with pick axes and thirst for gold but they do sport some mean beards! Weighing in at about 50% of their full-sized relatives Nigerians are funny little critters that 100% live the herd mentality.  So why did we choose to go down the path of Nigerian Dwarf rather than a different breed?  Based on our pre-herd research we found that Nigerian’s have outstanding milk production for their size and also have great tasting milk!    Finally, most mothers tend to take great care of their young and the breed itself is a great breed for those with a competitive nature as there are numerous competitions that Nigerians thrive in!

Our Does

Does are the mothers of the herd and quite honestly the leaders.  They handle the lion’s share of the work and we couldn’t do it without em’!

Our Bucks

Trouble is their middle name make no mistake about it.  Lots of fencing is necessary to rein these brutes in.  Oh, and some air freshener…phew!
